First of all, this is my first ever blog and i just wanted to try and make a difference to the cast of the Skulduggery film , as I have been devastated by bad casting of films in the past and I will not let it happen here. Also, this list was thought up by fans who would love to see the film done right, please feel free to comment on any of the ideas or to suggest new ones. Some of these actors may not be very well known, If you dont know an actor please look them up and watch some of their work.Finall I have also listed a few characters not in the first book, but only because I know who should play them. For example, Fletcher isnt there because I dont have a fletcher in my head, and PLEASE dont even mention Robert Pattinson! he is too old!
Skulduggery Pleasant: Obviously, we all know that Johnny Depp will probably be Skulduggery, however I would love to see John Simm play the part as he loves playing a part with dark streaks and I think he would be amazing.
Valkyrie: To play Valkyrie I think that we need a new actress as we need someone the right age to get the sequels. Harry Potter for example, the main characters started at the correct age for the role and so we have one of the most sucsessful film series ever. Percy Jackson really disappointed me here as in the first book Percy and Annabeth are both about 12, in the film they look the same age as they should be for the last of the Percy series. I'm sure a lot of comments will say Dakota Fanning but isnt she slightly too old for the part now? If anyone knows of an actress that didnt enter my mind who is the right age and suits the part please let me know...
China: Now, China took some consideration. I decided that Natalie Portman would be best for this role as I think she is a great actress. I originally thought she would be a great Tannith, which she would, but I cannot think of anyone more suited to China. Natalie Portman would be able to layer the character and give China that mysterious edge we all know she has, again if anyone has a better China in mind feel free to say so as Natalie Portman could also play Tannith.
Tannith: Miranda Otto. Miranda played Eowyn in LOTR films and is young enough to play Tannith and also has experience with swords.
Ghastly: ...... I dont have a Ghastly sorry! if anyone has ideas I would love to hear them
Sanguine: I know Sanguine isnt introduced until the second book but I really love the character and the suggestion needs to be put out there: James Holloway.... I had to look up the actors name but he played Sawyer in Lost and he is amazing, pity he will have no eyes as they burn when he is angry.
Thurid Guild: Sean Bean, do I need to explain this? Sean Bean Tends to be really great when playing characters similar to Guild: Boromir, LOTR, Sharpe(isnt like Guild but is awesome!)
Mr Bliss: There is only one person that has the prescence to pull off Mr Bliss... Patrick Stewart. I dont need to justify this any further! Derek Landy... "Make it so"
